UNDOCTRINATED
(The Poem that Inspired Unseperate Stories)
by Scribe Diva Ink

I woke up one morning

and realized the world isn’t broken —

it is constructed from old blueprints.

An empire with a facelift.
Rome with Wi-Fi.
Coliseums replaced by screens—
movies, phones, and TVs.

So that’s where the screen doors went—
we’re still on the porch,
scrolling
and trolling,
half-voyeurs,
half-performing,
outsourcing our courage
to strangers on screens,
instead of stepping
fully
into our own.

We’re reliving Rome

We cheer for our own distractions and manmade miracles,

We are like citizens in a trance

In an unaligned dance

as history loops through proofs of what sustains

An echo refusing to be defeated.

Refusing to be defamed.

…to fade into nonexistence.

They tell you it’s progress.

I say we’re reliving Rome

I see the patterns.

They sell to you as freedom.

I smell the permission.

They sell to you as equality.

I hear the gears grinding beneath the floorboards,

turning bodies into labor,

turning labor into wealth,

Wealth into power,

Power into “civilization,”

then handing you a handbook titled

Normal.

Retitled “the New Normal” after COVID-19
brought to you by Project 2025 and RSV

I digress

We out here rebuilding Rome people

every generation has done it,

stone by modernized stone,

Renaming the masonry

democracy,

capitalism,

religion,

patriotism,

The New World Order.

A different name

doesn’t change the architecture.

It doesn’t change the game or their strategy

Open your eyes and free your mind.

For only then will you see:

A senate for the wealthy.

A congress to control the people.

A circus to distract the poor.

A priesthood blessing this hierarchy.

Forever closing doors to progress.

Forever enforcing borders that assign status.

Using mythology to justify violence and oppression

Falsely sanctified by doctrines identified as sacred.

And people are so well-trained that they police their own cages.

And snitch on the thought of freedom

Offended at the audacity of anyone wishing for autonomy

Because ‘god is good all the time and all the time….”

We should be grateful – right?

Undoctrinated?

Nah — we are born into doctrine before we ever utter a word.

At birth, certificates stitched chains onto our monikers.

They say slavery ended.

I say the chains just got better PR

No whips needed

when mortgages are engineered to break your back.

No shackles needed

when debt maps the patterns of your psyche.

No overseer needed

when you stay hypnotized by their decrees

A hamster wheel is still a wheel.

Running in place is running –

but is it progress?

Are you paying for the illusion
that the cage is home?

Because you’ve mistaken their construct
for a place where you belong.

Stop

Stop worshiping illusions.

Stop bowing to constructs.

Miss-taking repetition for progress.

Confusing survival with freedom.

Calling suffering obedience.

Be courageous and stand

Stand outside the loop of generations

Whose revelations never questioned their inherited scripts.

Who continue to reenact Rome in modern outfits.

Who crave to be citizens of someone else’s republic.

Undoctrinated means

I am no longer impressed by the architecture of my oppressor.

Undoctrinated means

I dismantled their illusion in preference for truth

Undoctrinated means

I cremated their chains in favor of self-sufficiency

Undoctrinated means

I remember who I was before the God of their system was introduced.

And if you hear this and feel something shifting in your chest,

you’re becoming undoctrinated too

Stepping out of the loop.

Stepping out of the trance

Out of the unaligned dance

And into yourself.
